Memorial Day Sales

I’ve been putting off shopping for a few weeks now for a couple of reasons. One: All I want is summer clothes, but since the weather isn’t participating I haven’t been motivated to shop for summer pieces. And Two: I’ve been waiting for a weekend with really good sales. Because who doesn’t like a good sale, right? This weekend is Memorial Day, which is know for having awesome storewide sales!

Rainbow Trend

The rainbow trend was introduced last spring on the runway and it’s really starting to make an appearance in stores. There are some great pieces (that I linked below) that will add some color to cold, winter days. I’m predicting this trend will really explode in the spring + summer. There are plenty of ways to pull off this trend without looking like a Rainbow Brite doll; There is a 70’s flair to a rainbow striped top, a sporty edge to stripes down the side of pants, and pastel/muted rainbows feel girly. I linked some super cute rainbow pieces below! What is your favorite way to show off this trend?

Nordstrom Sale Picks

You guys, I gotta be honest - I feel kinda shopped out after the holidays… we’ll see how long that lasts haha. With all of the sales going on, I decided I might as well have a peek. Nordstrom is one of my favorite retailers because there are so many brands under one roof + free shipping. They are doing their half yearly sale right now, with items up to 50% off through January 2nd. I scoured the sale to find my favorite picks and to be honest there were some not-so-cute items (sorry, Nordstrom). BUT I would buy all of these, if I could! Take a look at my picks below.

We started getting our Pre-Holiday looks a month ago and this week we put out a reindeer sweater, so it’s basically Christmas in retail world.

Casual Thanksgiving Outfit Ideas + Traditions

I always loved Thanksgiving growing up. My family celebrates holiday’s rather simply. Growing up, it was always just my immediate family of four and my grandma. As I grew older, moved to a different state and began a retail career - time spent at home on Thanksgiving started to disappear. There was no time to go home when I had to work Black Friday the next day. So I stopped traveling home for this holiday.

A Transitional Fall Look

This week Starbuck's infamous Pumpkin Spice Latte was released, I looked at a few fall decor posts and I found Halloween candy at the grocery store. This week I felt like fall was pushed on me. So many other bloggers are posting full-on fall outfits and while everyone is sharing adorable looks, I can't help but think how hot they must be! Haha! While I'm extremely excited for fall (it's my favorite season), I just can't get myself to share chunky sweaters and boots until the weather participates! I want to share transitional looks that still get you excited for fall, but can also be worn now. I've been sharing a ton of transitional fall looks on my Instagram, but once I got this dress I knew I had to share on the blog! Check out my Instagram (@molliealamode) to get daily outfit inspiration as we head into fall!

26 Things I Want To Accomplish This Year

Tomorrow is my 26th birthday and I have so much to be grateful for this year! I love my birthday because it's on May 5th, meaning it's on Cinco De Mayo! Maybe this is why I'm so obsessed with Mexican food!? It's always a fun day and everyone is down to celebrate. My friends joke around by calling it Cinco de Mollie every year, but I secretly love it! 26 is kind of a scary year because I'm officially closer to 30 than I am 20.
