Casual Thanksgiving Outfit Ideas + Traditions

IMG_1534-2.jpg

I always loved Thanksgiving growing up. My family celebrates holiday’s rather simply. Growing up, it was always just my immediate family of four and my grandma. As I grew older, moved to a different state and began a retail career - time spent at home on Thanksgiving started to disappear. There was no time to go home when I had to work Black Friday the next day. So I stopped traveling home for this holiday.

I’m excited to say, this year my family is coming to me! We are celebrating the weekend before with my family, significant others, my cousins, aunt and uncle, plus my grandpa! Not to mention, Eric and I are in charge of cooking! I’m so excited to be surrounded by family. Some of my favorite traditions are going around the table to say what we are thankful for, blasting music around the house, playing a board game after dinner, and watching the first Christmas movie of the season while eating our pumpkin pie! What are your favorite traditions?

Because Thanksgiving is so simple in my family, I always go for more casual looks. I love cozy sweaters and dresses in neutrals or warm colors. I’m wearing this cable knit sweater dress with booties, a floppy hat and a buffalo plaid scarf for extra warmth! I broke down my Thanksgiving outfit ideas by category. Explore sweaters, dresses and accessories perfect for the Holiday below!

THANKSGIVING SWEATERS

Warm and neutral colored sweaters paired with jeans on Thanksgiving makes dressing for the holiday easy! I’ll probably end up wearing a sweater with my stretchiest jeans and some booties for my Thanksgiving dinner!

THANKSGIVING DRESSES

If you prefer something a little bit fancier, opt for a dress! I linked both dressy and more casual options depending on your plans!

THANKSGIVING ACCESORIES

The most affordable way to turn your everyday wardrobe into something more festive. Just add an accessory!
