Fall Stripes

Stripes are one of those patterns that are always in style. They are usually considered pretty classic and sometimes even preppy, but for Fall 2017 they are one of the Top 10 Trends. This past spring we saw a lot of rainbow stripes, while fall trends are leaning more towards high contrast stripes. While this definitely includes classic black and white, it could also be a vibrant color toned down with a white stripe, or a deep color paired with a neutral stripe.

My favorite part about this seasons stripes are how they are mixing themselves with fall trends like bell sleeves, embroidery, knotted tops, and dramatic ruffles. It makes these trends more wearable, giving you the option to stretch these styles to wearing next year when these trends may no longer be popular. Because stripes truly never go out of style.

I found the cutest stripes that are perfect for everyday wear (I wish I owned all of them)! As you can see a few of these are classic pieces that you should always have in your wardrobe, but they all have a little bit of an edge. The black and white sweater on the bottom right has an open-slit back, while the black and white stripe tee next to it has a peplum for extra flair. The top left corner is perfectly on trend with a statement sleeve and a menswear feel and the slip-on sneaker could be paired with SO many outfits!

All of these stripes could easily be styled with skinny jeans, distressed denim, black pants or half tucked into a skirt! The style options are endless, not to mention so easy!

Below is a look at how I styled my stripes. I snagged this sweater this summer, but I love how it is textured and how it has a fringe trim, making the black and white stripes appear more stylish! I paired this striped sweater with a faded black skinny jean, tan booties and a cognac purse.
