The Best "Boyfriend" Jeans

I was never much of a denim girl- I remember wearing leggings or velour flares most of my childhood (90's girls am I right!?). Until I got to middle school and then you weren't cool if you weren't wearing a pair of Abercrombie or Hollister jeans. Even then I really only owned a dark wash, a light wash and a distressed pair- until this year.

There have been so many new styles of jeans lately. Anything from split-hems, cuffed straight legs, step-hems, raw edges and even embroidery! I've gotten behind most of these styles, but could never find a pair of boyfriend jeans that looked good...until now! I feel like a lot of people have this problem or steer away from this style because they can't find a pair that fits without looking like you're literally wearing your boyfriends jeans. Well, problem solved! Girlfriend jeans are a similar style to boyfriend jeans and honestly way more flattering. The biggest difference is the leg is a little more slim and tapered than a boyfriend jean, but still gives the same effect.

Just like my middle school days, these jeans are from Abercrombie & Fitch. I haven't shopped here for years, but I feel like they are making a comeback. I remember their clothing being extremely tight back in the day, but that is no longer the case. I'm usually between an 8 and a 10 and went with the size 10, but ultimately could have gotten the 8 as they do stretch as you wear them! I love that this pair is distressed and high waisted, so many outfit options!

Check out all the different ways I styled them:

Style these jeans with a cami, a long cardigan, and lace up block heels for a cute and casual look! Perfect for happy hour with the girls or a fun date night!

Here's a close up of the distressing. I love that these jeans are slightly cropped and how the ends are frayed.

For my second look, I paired classic pieces like my utility blouse and d'Orsay flats with the boyfriend jeans to make an otherwise simple outfit, appear edgier.

For my third look, I wanted something super casual that would be great for a day of running errands or hanging out. I paired my boyfriend jeans with a not so basic white tee, a long black cardigan and slip on sneakers!
