Mustard Sweater + How To Style

Every year, each season gets their own color story. Pantone does a color report every year based off the designs featured on runways. For the first time, Pantone is adding London Fashion Week colors to their color report, beside the New York Fashion Week report. The two shows were different, but also had a lot of similarities. For Fall and Winter 17/18, New York went for classic autumnal shades with a few unexpected shades like a light pink or lime green. Pairing these shades together for the season can add visual interest to your outfit.

While London's color palette is different, offering more classic shades like navy and red, there are also unexpected shades for the season such as a copper color, and light pink. The runway was filled with looks mixing these colors together like pairing "Royal Lilac" and "Otter", or "Lemon Curry" With "Blue Bell".

I've been seeing these shades throughout stores already! It's interesting to see how much designs featured on the runway affect your everyday wardrobe! This season, I have been searching for a "Lemon Curry" or mustard-colored sweater for awhile now. I loved the autumnal color and never really owned anything that color before. After a long hunt, I finally found one I loved that wasn't too expensive! I fell in love with this particular sweater because it was chunky, had a blouson sleeve, and instead of being fitted it was a swing style sweater- which I found unique. I'm styling this sweater 4 ways- to show you how a bold color such as this can have so much versatility.

This exact sweater will be available online SOON (I'll be sure to link it ASAP).

This outfit gives me all the fall vibes! Pairing this sweater with fringed suede booties, a floppy hat and a layered leaf necklace was the perfect choice for the corn maze!

2. Mustard Sweater + Faux Leather Skirt

This would be perfect for a date night or happy hour with the girls! I half tucked this sweater into the skirt, paired it with black booties and added a leopard clutch to add a fun pop to the outfit. Mustard and leopard pair together perfectly!

3. Mustard Sweater + "Blue Bell"

For my third look I was inspired by London's color palette. I decided to pair my mustard (or "Lemon Curry") sweater with a "Blue Bell" woven layered underneath. I was skeptical at first, but I love it! It created so much visual interest and was a unique way to style this sweater that you probably haven't thought of. This sweater would also look great with a light blue scarf tied around your neck!
