One Year Blogiversary

It’s official, I’ve had Mollie À La Mode for one year now! I remember thinking about starting it and being so scared. To be honest, I tried starting a blog several times for about five years before thinking about Mollie À La Mode and everything I wanted it to represent. One day all of my ideas just came together.

I’ve learned a lot about blogging since I first started and I honestly still have a lot to learn. First of all, blogging is way harder than it looks. Everyone seems to have an opinion about your blog. Some people are super supportive, some make fun of me in the slightest of ways, some suggest that I do things differently (without me asking for their opinion) and some people just don’t get it, but my blog is what inspires me.

One of the hardest parts about blogging is critiquing yourself and comparing yourself to others. Especially when you’re not the status quo. Most bloggers tend to be a size 4 girl, it’s rare to see someone else like me who’s a size 8/10. I’m still learning to accept my body and I wish I could have more body positive posts, but I’m just not there yet. I hope posting different looks inspires women like me, for now.

While I still have a lot to learn, all of the knowledge I’ve soaked up over the year has been amazing! My style has improved, I’ve learned social media strategies, Photoshop, Lightroom, marketing and more! I’ve improved so much over this year and have so many great memories! After a year of having my blog, I feel like I’m just now starting to understand my brand and all I want to represent. I have started connecting more with the blogging community and have become more comfortable with myself. I can’t wait to see what the next year in my blogging journey holds!

I’m going to share some of my favorite outfits over the year below! Take a look below and tell me which outfit was your favorite!

As always, thank you so much for following along! I have a ton of ideas coming to the blog within the next couple of months so stay tuned!

xoxo.

A Transitional Fall Look

A Transitional Fall Look

This week Starbuck's infamous Pumpkin Spice Latte was released, I looked at a few fall decor posts and I found Halloween candy at the grocery store. This week I felt like fall was pushed on me. So many other bloggers are posting full-on fall outfits and while everyone is sharing adorable looks, I can't help but think how hot they must be! Haha! While I'm extremely excited for fall (it's my favorite season), I just can't get myself to share chunky sweaters and boots until the weather participates! I want to share transitional looks that still get you excited for fall, but can also be worn now. I've been sharing a ton of transitional fall looks on my Instagram, but once I got this dress I knew I had to share on the blog! Check out my Instagram (@molliealamode) to get daily outfit inspiration as we head into fall!

Buy This, Not That

Buy This, Not That

This series called, "Buy This, Not That" provides cheaper options with a similar look. I did my best to find look-alike pieces at an affordable price! Personally, I've been shifting my wardrobe by spending more money on classic, quality pieces while doing my best to spend less on trendier pieces. Considering I am a style blogger, I go through a lot of clothes! I've been trying to spend less on trendy looks, so I thought I would share some cute options.

Styling Your Sets

Styling Your Sets

Matching sets are all the rage right now! I've always wanted one, but I've struggled with finding one that's not too skimpy. I'm somewhat modest and I am not comfortable in a crop top/mini skirt situation. Ya feel? I was attracted to this polka dot matching set because it was classic and girly and not too revealing, high waisted bottoms are key. When I tried on the set I thought it was adorable, but automatically wondered if this was a bad purchase. Could I take a set like this into fall? Do I have to wear them together? The answer is no! I styled this polka dot set two other ways for you below.

4th of July Style

4th of July Style

The 4th of July is almost here! This day is pretty much the epitome of summer with BBQ's, pool time, days on the lake, baseball games and more! It's so much fun dressing festive on holidays, especially when everyone around you gets into the spirit! Sadly, I'll be working during the day, but once I get off I hope to grill up some yummy food, watch some fireworks and light some sparklers! What do you have planned?
